PAINTING
In the 1970s, directly out of SUNY University with a BFA concentration in painting and drawing, I began my art career. My style mirrored the Abstract Expressionist Movement as I found inspiration from artists like William de Kooning, Joan Mitchell, Arshile Gorky, Louise Nevelson, and many others who emerged from the New York art scene. My paintings, like my drawings, remain characterized by bold emotional strokes and mark-making that reflect the spirit of the mid-20th century.
